Finishing my Egypt series with this breath-taking Finishing my Egypt series with this breath-taking monument: Great Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel πŸ‘‘ Carved into the mountainside, these colossal statues of the pharaoh guard the entrance to one of Egypt's most iconic sites. And next to it is the stunning temple of Nefertari πŸ‘Œ Like Philae, these masterpieces was also relocated in a huge rescue effort by @UNESCO! πŸŒ…

Fun fact: it was moved from its original site due to the construction of the High Dam, and it now stands on Agilkia Island, accessible only by boat 🏝️
