Photo print of the stupas atop Borobudur, Indonesia.

Description

This photo was taken from the top of Borobudur, a 9th century CE Buddhist temple in Central Java, Indonesia. It is the largest Buddhist temple in the world. Narrative reliefs that tell the story of Buddha add up to more 3,000 meters. These are joined by over 500 Buddha statues, also inside the stupas on the top platform – from where this image was captured. This is the less ornate Arupadhatu level, which represents an abstract level of consciousness and absence of physical form. Due to the high volume of admirers climbing the temple’s stairs, the number of visitors to Borobudur is now limited – preserving some of the peace the sanctuary deserves.

Photo taken July 2023. Printed on GiclΓ©e HahnemΓΌhle Bamboo, a warm-toned paper made from 90% Bamboo fibres and 10% cotton – combining photography with environmental friendliness. It offers good ageing resistance and guarantees high colour density.

This is a limited edition print, of 50 copies. Please note that it is being sold unframed, so you can choose a frame that matches your own decorating style.
