Description
Enter the mysterious megalithic structure of Stonehenge. Its fame precedes this prehistoric site situated in the green hills of Wiltshire, in the United Kingdom. The placement of these giant sarsens and bluestones dates back to the 3rd millennium BCE, a time not yet documented in written records in England. While much about the construction and purpose of Stonehenge remains unknown, a few things stand out: archaeological evidence indicates people probably gathered there, and both the stones and the avenue leading up to the structure align with the winter and summer solstice. As an Archaeology student at the University of Cambridge I had the unique opportunity to cross all barriers and walk amongst the stones. This photo print captures that magical moment.
